Miyajima Deer The deer are a symbol of Miyajima and you can see them elegantly wandering the island everywhere. The deer are sacred and believed to be a messenger of the gods in Shinto. They are treated very well by the locals and aren’t afraid of people.
And they will eat your clothes if you leave them around within their reach. I met more then one person that lost their drying underwear to the deers
Finally got the date for my department to Japan the 21 July 2015!!!! Not so long left!!!
I really don’t understand why it is such a culture around alcohol, like it is the coolest thing ever.
My classmate makes jokes about how fun it will be to make me drunk and I’m like no. I don’t wanna drink. I have absolutely no desire to drink. For me it is impossible to understand why I should put a liquid that is scientific proven to be bad for the body, that makes me lose control and ends in headache next day in my body. And around other people who won’t be in complete control either.
Also it taste awful. “You get use to it” they say, but why should I do that? Why get use to a foul tasting liquid, what’s proven bad for you, just to fit in?
It is totally fine if others want to drink but please don’t make me do it.

Same. The legal age in the uk you can drink is sixteen, although you can’t buy it until you’re eighteen. Many people I know though started drinking as young as thirteen. My cousin (whose fourteen) drinks at parties and i just think it’s ridiculous that my uncle is okay with it (actually he got super super offended when his friend asked him why he thought it was okay to buy his fourteen year old daughter lager and they kicked him out of the house for saying that). It can’t be good for people in the long run at all. I’m glad I’m not the only one too!!! Everyone always treats me like I’m crazy so it’s nice to talk to someone who agrees!!!
We can be the sane crazy people together. Even if I knew people how drunk then they was that young it is still chocking, like no you are a child stop. I study biology and chemistry and is hoping to getting in to medicine so I know for a fact how bad alcohol is for the body. And plenty of studies shows the earlier you start the worse it gets.

85 DAYS UNTIL I’M OF TO JAPAN!!!!! (not that I’m counting or anything)
So this summer I’m going to Japan on a camp called world scout Jamboree. Basically it is a huge camp that happened ever 4:th year with scouts from the whole world. Apart for being an awesome camp experience WSJ is also about understanding different cultures and beliefs and learn that even if we are different we can work and live together.
Yesterday I got an informations mail about some things and it let us know that on the camp it is going to be a rainbow cafe. Rainbow scouts have been a thing a couple of years and it makes me so happy that they will be including LBQGT+ in WSJ education program.
Also *take a deep breath* I’M GOING TO JAPAN FOR 28 DAYS!!!

callout culture is bombarding people with accusatory messages as soon as a celebrity or tv show they like fucks up, as if it was their fault or they can do anything about it and as if it’s possible for anyone or anything to be perfect enough to be deemed worthy of fandom by those standards
callout culture is refusing to give people room to fuck up and then grow and learn and to acknowledge that people and media mean a lot to people for an enormous variety of reasons and expecting people to be able to (and to want to) just cut all emotional ties they have with something or someone when they fuck up is unreasonable and unrealistic
callout culture is claiming to stand for social justice, but driving young teenagers to the point of suicide because maintaining a sense of ideological purity is seen as preferable to remembering that we all used to be ignorant on various issues and educating those who just didn’t know any better
